Our Process
Identify the leak
Our first step with any leak situation is to identify the source of the leak and shut off the water supply as necessary. It may be that a local valve can be closed to shut off the water to just the affected appliance. If that’s not possible, then we may need to locate your main shut-off valve for the entire property and close that off. This will prevent more water from leaking into the property.
Safety first
Should we believe that the leak could be near to any live mains electricity, we may have to also shut off the electricity supply. An electrical inspection may be necessary before the electricity supply can be turned back on to make sure that there is no ongoing risk of electric shock.
Fix the leak
Once we have identified the source of the leak and stopped the water flow, we will source whatever parts are necessary to complete the fix (in most cases we will have the parts needed in our van) and carry out the repair.
Once the repair is complete, we can then turn the water supply back on and give one final check for any drips or continued leaks.
If for whatever reason a leak reoccurs up to 2 weeks after the fix, we will return and fix it again, free of charge.
In the vast majority of cases, our process above is followed and we get a great result. In such rare cases where a different approach is necessary, we will apply whatever process is necessary and safe to get the job done.
Prevention is better than cure
